Meet Andy Bousono
Andy Bousono is an inspiring mentor, leader, and dedicated member of the Vermont community. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Andy relocated to Vermont in 2009 to pursue his college education and compete as a collegiate athlete.
Growing up in Philadelphia, Andy achieved several notable accomplishments as a basketball player. Most memorably, he became the shortest and lightest player in Philadelphia history to reach the 1,000-point milestone, A record that still stands today.
Andy attended Johnson State College (now Vermont State University–Johnson) beginning in 2009, where he built an impressive collegiate career. He finished as the school’s all-time leader in total steals, third all-time leader in total assists, and set the single-game steals record with eight.
After his collegiate career, Andy pursued opportunities at the professional level. Unfortunately, a poorly timed injury brought that chapter to an abrupt halt, redirecting his path away from the court and toward a greater purpose.
While his on-court success was significant, Andy considers his greatest achievement to be earning his degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2014. That accomplishment laid the foundation for his next chapter using basketball as a vehicle to uplift others.
In 2014, Andy founded Revolution Basketball, combining his competitive drive with a passion for giving back. What began as a single program quickly grew into a movement that reshaped adult and community basketball in Vermont.
Today, Revolution Basketball is widely recognized as the most competitive men’s basketball league and program in the state, attracting players from across Vermont and surrounding regions. Since its inception, Andy has organized and hosted countless tournaments and leagues, creating opportunities for athletes while delivering high-level basketball experiences for the local community.
Now the next chapter is here! The Burlington Revolution, a team playing in the American Basketball Association(ABA). A team built for the Community by the Community.
